The latter is known as the Storm System, which is the registered trademark of Loro Piana indicating a waterproof and wind resistant, yet breathable fabric.

At least, what we know from historical documents, is that by the second part of the 17 th century, Ajmo Barbera possessed unique dyeing techniques besides just a wool mill. Their secret was passed down from father to son for centuries.

Today, Vitale Barberis Canonico is famous for not only its glorious history, but also for its approach to doing business. The company stays very concious about being green, and makes wonders in reduction of an environmental footprint.

Today, the legacy continues with the third generation, represented by Luca Patti and Matteo Patti, spearheading the mill's global initiatives.
